Decision-Making Procedures in European Union 2105-EPE-L-D3DMPE
The student learns the basic terminology used to determine the decision-making procedures in the European Union and relationships that exist between the institutions. The student gets to know the relations between institutions and member states within the legal and institutional system of the European Union. The student learns the practice of EU institutions in various areas and in selected EU policies. The student finds out how
to analyze the structures and institutions involved in the EU decision-making process at various levels. The student learns to analyze solutions of selected problems in the social, political and economic areas of the European Union and Europe, and proposes appropriate solutions in this regard.

In accordance with the study program:
1) in terms of knowledge: basic processes and concepts of the development of the European Union, the relationship between the formation and functioning of the European Union and changes in the socio-cultural, economic and political spheres of the world and the continent (K_W04), the structure, competences and functioning of the European Union and its impact on member states and their mutual relations (K_W05).
2) in terms of skills: analyze at a basic level solutions to specific problems in the social, political and economic areas of the European Union and Europe and propose appropriate solutions in this regard (K_U05), analyze structures and institutions, in particular political, economic, national, supranational and in connection with their national and international environment (K_U06), identify and interpret scenarios for the creation and implementation of public policies at the national and supranational level and apply the acquired knowledge to the general diagnosis of the quality of policies conducted by European countries and the European Union (K_U10).
3) in terms of social competences: correctly identifying and resolving dilemmas related to the practice of the profession (K_K_K02), representing in an institutionalized way the diverse interests of various social groups, taking into account the political, economic and legal aspects of undertaken initiatives (K_K05).

During the course are used in diverse, complementary working methods.
Final rating is a weighted average of the partial assessments within the subject:
1) The activity assessed on each class;
2) Lecture problem - preparing presentations;
3) Workshops.
