Press Agencies Journalism Specialization 2101-L-W6SPAG-DZIEN
Classes are aimed to deepen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students, after brief theoretical introduction, receive specific tasks to perform as the theme which is taken in each agency. There are processed less common forms of agency journalism, which didn’t occur during class of the first degree. Students improve in creating any editorial, news. More often than in the 1st class degree, students are sent to the press conferences and other events that require reporting on an ongoing basis. Classes take place in the Polish Press Agency, to allow students to confront the tasks performed in real-service agency.

After completing the course, students:
knowledge:
1. knows the specificity of the world's major news agencies as well as Polish Agency;
2. knows the websites of Polish Press Agency;
3. knows the basic rules for creating agency news;
4. can assess the informative value of various events;
5. has a basic knowledge of the current issues, necessary for creating message background;
6. knows how to run press conferences.

1. is able to correctly formulate agency dispatches titles;
2. knows how to create different kinds of messages, leads;
3. can work over agency text;
4. is able to give the correct message structure;
5. can look for sources of information;
6. can get to the archival information from PAP.
Other competencies:
1. ability to capture manipulation of information;
2. practical knowledge to avoid violations of the Press Law and other related to the journalistic work;
Assessment criteria
Assessed is the presence and activity in the classroom, knowledge of current events in Poland and abroad. There are and evaluated the review of press conferences and other events. Scoring system is used, then transferred to the assessment.
