Master's seminar I 1900-3-SM1-MT
The aim of the seminar is to provide knowledge on basic scientific methods, selected research methods and theory of spatial urban studies and tourism in the course of preparing the thesis. The student becomes familiar with the conceptualization (formulating research problems and hypotheses) and operationalization of the research work, collecting empirical material and the development of empirical data.

After completing the course the student:
KNOWLEDGE: knows the theoretical basis of urban studies and conditions for the development of tourism and tourist reception areas and their application in practice.
SKILLS: knows how to explain the genesis of phenomena and processes, present them on the map and point out possible solutions to the problems of shaping and use of urban space and valorization of tourism and tourist development. .
ATTITUDES: he is aware of the responsibilities of researcher during data collection (contacts wit(contacts with respondents and representatives of local authorities), and respect for honesty in the presentation of research results.
Assessment criteria
Attendance (limit of three unexcused absences). The assessment is based on student's activity during the seminar, the progress of the thesis, quality of presentation and reasoning skills of the results. Seminar participant is obliged to at least one presentation per semester selected issues (based on literature), or the progress in the development of thesis.
