Applied hydrology 1900-1-HYDS-F
The subject "Applied Hydrology" consists of 2 parts: lectures (15 hours) and exercises (15 hours). The lectures refer to the content of basic hydrology course and concern:
- the type and availability of water resources in Poland;
- risk assessment related to water scarcity and water surplus (i.e. floods);
- hydrological monitoring.
In addition, sources of hydrological information (i.e. measurements databases, hydrographic maps) are to be taken into account. Part of the attention is devoted to the forecasts of hydrological phenomena and various methods of their presentation. Potential sources of errors are to be discussed.

Student is familiar with the source of hydrological data, is able to apply simple methods of quantitative data analysis in the field of hydrology and water management. Student understands and interprets the results of hydrological forecasts.
