Subsurface geological mapping 1300-OKGPP
Outline of geomorphology and Quaternary geology of Poland. The base of geomorphological analysis. Interpretation of geomorphological objects on DEMs. The basement of geological mapping. Searching and interpretation of various geological data. Mapping the landslides in the uplands and lowland areas. Working in the geological outcrops. The collecting, describing, transporting and storage of the geological sampling.
The main methods of examination of the Cainosoic deposits. Application of geophysical methods in subsurface mapping. How to present the results of mapping. The rules of constructions of symbols and the legend of geological maps. The planning of the field works. The main Polish mapping projects.

Learning outcomes
Student has knowledge and skills in:
- geomorphology and surface geology of Poland;
- fluency in the recognizing of deposits and features in the map and in the field;
- DEM analysis;
- applying of geophysics methods in subsurface mapping;
- developing in collecting and interpretation of geological data;
- construction of geological and geomorphological maps, and cross-sections;
- carrying out of the laboratory lithological analysis;
- roles of creating of detailed geological of Poland and others maps;
- applying computer programs for subface mapping.
Assessment criteria
Writting exam. Resit – oral examination.
Classes - 2 absences per semester allowed, assessment of work done during classes, as part of retake test - assessment of corrected attachments.
