Ceramics and engineering of rock materials 1300-OCSS4CW
The lecture presents information on the applicative issues of mineralogy, petrography and ore geology, including characteristics of the applied technological processes, from the simplest related to enrichment and inward processing, to deep processing of rock resources.
The classes aim at practical performance of selected technological processes, mainly ceramic, inward processing of selected rock materials, and determining qualitative parameters of the processed deposits and their products in the range of the laboratory equipment available at the Faculty of Geology. Part of the classes includes visits to selected industrial plants, in which mineral resources are processed or the production is based on technologies presented during the lectures. The students get acquainted with technological processes and the applied equipment and devices. If possible, visits to research institutes working for relevant processing plants are organized.
