During the individual work every student will become familiar with fundamental laboratory techniques: crystallisation, distillation, extraction, chromatography as well as basic apparatus used in the laboratory of organic chemistry.

Learning outcomes
After finishing the course the student should know:
- the rules of the safe work in the organic chemistry laboratory,
- how to use the basic equipment and to perform common laboratory techniques,
- how to carry out the synthesis of simple organic compounds and purify synthesized compounds.
Assessment criteria
Completion of all individual experiments, approval of written reports and tests.
