Health and Safety at Higher Education Institutions: legal basis, duties of the Academy, students' duties, accidents during classes.
First premedical aid.
Hazards: substances and chemical preparations, noxious agents occuring at Chemistry Department.
Rules for safe work: health and safety during laboratory classes, procedures for work with substances and chemical preparations.
Fire protection: fire hazard, duties for fire prevention, basic extinguishing mediums, rules for raising alarms and evacuation.

Learning outcomes
An ability to work safely at the Faculty of Chemistry, UW, and familiarity with the evacuation procedure.
Assessment criteria
The course is graded on the basis a test prepared by the course teacher.
