Acquisition of grants (scientist's workshop) 1100-SZD-PG
The classes are dedicated for the PhD students of the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences. The classes will have a form of a workshop, which will be a combination of a seminar/lecture and students’ discussions. The course aims to discuss the most important external sources of funding grants and general principles of fundraising for research. National and international grant agencies, types of grants, and general principles of applying for funding for a research project will be discussed. Particular attention will be paid to grants financed by the National Science Center and the European Commission. The classes will present and analyze the process of the grant application, including (I) building CV, (ii) project proposal preparation, (iii) its evaluation and interview with the panel of experts, and (iv) reporting and final evaluation. Detailed rules for applying for selected NCN and ERC grants will be presented.

Assessment criteria
Student will have to prepare a 1-page project proposal and participate in the classes. The student is eligible to have only one absence.
