Cataract and eye prosthesis with intraocular lenses 1100-4OP22
Subject delivered according to the following topics in the form of a two-day workshop.
Day 1
1. cataract (causes, types, treatment history, treatment modality, epidemiology)
2. biometry
3. intraocular lens types (history of IOLs, what are currently on the market, materials, shape, asphericity, filters, AT IOLs)
4. astigmatism as a refractive defect, epidemiology, impact on vision
Day 2
5. toric intraocular lenses (construction, correction ranges calculation) - exercises in toric lens calculation based on biometry results
6. toric lens implant (determination of implant axis - traditional, slit-lamp, Verion, Ora)
7. presbyopia-correcting multifocal lenses (accommodation and presbyopia, types of presbyopia-correcting IOLs, indications and contraindications, calculation, RLE

Learning outcomes
The student is familiar with cataract treatment, in particular the types of correction and their characteristics.
The student is able to perform basic calculations of implantable lens power.
