Optometric tools 1100-2BO07
The lecture discusses the operation of the optometric instruments. The structure and functions of the following tools are presented:
I. For the viewing of the eye and looking into the eye: slit lamp (Zeiss and Hagstreit type) and ophthalmoscopes (including confocal).
II. For measuring the topography of the cornea (keratometry, ophthalmometry,wavefront detection devices).
III. For the objective measurement of the refraction of the eye (autorefractors, skiascopes - retinoscopes).
IV. For the subjective measurement of the refraction and other parameters of the eye (phoropters, ophthalmic lenses, overhead/optotype projectors, stereotests, colour tests, pupilometers, crossed cylinders, polarising glasses, flippers).
V. To measure the glasses (focimeters, electronic polariscopes).
VI. OCT and SOCT tomography, non-contact tonometers.
The student knows the construction and operation of optometric tools discussed during the lectures.
Final grade obtained depends on the final exam.
