Lecture:
Course content: levels of protein structural organization, structural motifs, structural classification of proteins, forces shaping spatial structures, folding, basics of chemical thermodynamics, the structure of enzymatic proteins, mechanisms of enzymatic catalysis, types of enzymatic reaction kinetics, types of catalytic reactions and enzyme classification, membrane bioenergetics systems.
Classes:
1. Biochemical and enzymatic calculations. Basics of spectrophotometry.
2. Basics of simulation of chemical and enzymatic reactions using the Gepasi computer program.
3. Basics of enzymatic reaction measurements. Determination of the activity of transaminases in the rabbit blood serum.
4. Experimental determination of the kinetic parameters Km and Vmax for L-lactate dehydrogenase.
5. Mathematical methods for the determination of kinetic parameters of enzymes.
6. Inhibition of enzymatic reactions - simulations in the Gepasi program and data analysis.
7. Mechanisms of enzymatic reactions - simulations in the Gepasi program and data analysis.
8. Application of computer programs to analyze the spatial structure of enzymes.
