Celem zajęć jest dyskusja na temat wybranych problemów społecznych i politycznych, a także stosunków międzynarodowych prezentowanych w tekstach kultury popularnej.
Podczas zajęć zostaną omówione wybrane problemy społeczne wraz z ich odzwierciedleniem w tekstach europejskiej i amerykańskiej kultury popularnej.
Tematyka zajęć
1. Polityka i stosunki międzynarodowe w kulturze popularnej (fikcja polityczna)
2. Wojna i wojna z terroryzmem w kulturze popularnej
3. Polityka, ideologia i komiksy: „V jak Vendetta”
4. Umacnianie tożsamości narodowej. Nacjonalizm w kulturze popularnej
5. Ukryta rzeczywistość: teorie spiskowe we współczesnych społeczeństwach i kulturze popularnej
6. Brexit: współczesna polityka brytyjska

Po zakończeniu kursu student:
• potrafi zdefiniować podstawowe pojęcia z dziedziny nauki o kulturze (K_W02);
• potrafi wskazać i omówić problemy społeczne i polityczne pojawiające się tekstach kultury popularnej (K_U10);
• analizuje teksty kultury popularnej pod kątem występowania w nich tematyki społeczno-politycznej (K_W02);
• ma wiedzę o współczesnej kulturze popularnej (K_W02).
Kryteria oceniania
• Obecność (dopuszczalna jest jedna nieobecność się w semestrze),
• Krótkie zadanie na platformie Google Classroom.
• Aktywność podczas zajęć.
• Prezentacja.
