The lecture comprises the following topics: nucleus and nuclear transformations; natural and synthetic radioactive elements; sources and origin of particles and radioactivity; interaction of nuclear radiation with matter - absorption of radiation; radiometry and dosimetry; radiation chemistry; radiological protection; application of isotopes in science and technology: nuclear energy and nuclear reactors (power station), industrial application, nuclear medicine; application of isotopes in the study of the physicochemical processes and reactions mechanisms; the influence of isotope substitution on physical and chemical properties of chemical substances; isotope effects, separation of isotopes.
Lecture = 30 hours
Individual preparatio for each lecture ( 0,5 h weekly) = 7,5 hours
Preparation for the exam = 20 hours
Together = approximately 60 hours

Introduction to nuclear chemistry - at the end of this course student should posses the basic knowledge of the property of the nuclear transformation, nuclear radiation and its interaction with the matter, as well as he/she should learn various isotope methods used in chemistry, biology and medicine.
Kryteria oceniania
Final examination online carried out in a written form. Writing time 90 minutes
