W erze społeczeństwa informacyjnego zarządzanie wiedzą i dostępem do informacji staje się kluczową umiejętnością. Kierunek Informacja naukowa i bibliotekoznawstwo na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim przygotowuje do pracy w dynamicznie zmieniającym się środowisku informacyjnym – zarówno w sektorze publicznym, jak i prywatnym.

To studia dla przyszłych bibliotekarzy, specjalistów informacji i osób zarządzających zasobami wiedzy , które chcą nie tylko korzystać z informacji, ale też rozumieć jej społeczne znaczenie i profesjonalnie nią zarządzać. Program łączy wiedzę z zakresu nauk społecznych z nowoczesnymi technologiami informacyjnymi i praktycznym podejściem do pracy z użytkownikiem.

Czego nauczysz się na tym kierunku?

Program studiów oparty jest na solidnych podstawach nauk społecznych i odpowiada na potrzeby współczesnego społeczeństwa cyfrowego. W toku studiów nauczysz się m.in.:

  • organizować, opisywać i zarządzać informacją pochodzącą z różnych źródeł i w różnych formatach,
  • korzystać z nowoczesnych narzędzi cyfrowych – takich jak bazy danych, systemy wyszukiwawcze, repozytoria i platformy informacji naukowej,
  • analizować potrzeby użytkowników i projektować dostosowane do nich usługi informacyjne,
  • oceniać wiarygodność źródeł, przeciwdziałać dezinformacji i wspierać rozwój kompetencji informacyjnych,
  • poruszać się w kontekstach kulturowych, edukacyjnych, społecznych i technologicznych związanych z obiegiem informacji,
  • pracować zespołowo, zarządzać projektami i wdrażać rozwiązania wspierające dostęp do wiedzy.

Możesz pracować jako:

  • Bibliotekarz – w bibliotekach publicznych, akademickich, szkolnych i specjalistycznych, pełniąc funkcje związane z zarządzaniem zbiorami, wdrażaniem nowych technologii i obsługą użytkowników;
  • Specjalista informacji naukowej i społecznej – zajmujący się analizą, selekcją, opracowaniem i udostępnianiem informacji w różnych kontekstach instytucjonalnych;
  • Twórca i menedżer treści cyfrowych – wspierający procesy tworzenia, selekcjonowania, opracowywania i upowszechniania informacji w środowisku online;
  • Analityk danych jakościowych i źródeł społecznych – przetwarzający informacje na potrzeby badań, komunikacji i edukacji;
  • Koordynator projektów edukacyjnych i informacyjnych – pracujący z użytkownikami w obszarach edukacji formalnej i nieformalnej;
  • Specjalista ds. zarządzania wiedzą i dokumentacją – w instytucjach publicznych, firmach, organizacjach pozarządowych i edukacyjnych.

Knowledge: the graduate knows and understands
K_W01 – facts, objects and phenomena as well as the theories describing them relevant to book studies, information studies and social communication and media studies, with their subject specificity
K_W02 – methodology of social communication and media sciences, as well as disciplines related to the field of study, to the extent corresponding to their interdisciplinary social and media cooperation and inspiration, with their subject specificity
K_W03 – basic general and specialist terminology in the area of social communication and media sciences, in particular book studies and information studies, as well as disciplines related to the field of study
K_W04 – basic methods of analysis and interpretation of various cultural products appropriate for social communication and media sciences, in particular book studies and information studies, as well as disciplines related to the field of study
K_W05 – rules of operation of library systems, both general and narrowed down to specific areas of research and/or professional activity
K_W06 – history and principles and forms of creation and operation of cultural and information institutions of various types
K_W07 – processes for the creation, management and assessment of the quality of document collections, as well as procedures and tools for accessing them
K_W08 – methods, forms and sociological and psycho-sociological conditions of communication with library users and other cultural institutions
K_W09 – legal, social, economic, technical and cultural aspects of the activity of cultural and information institutions
K_W10 – basic concepts and principles in the field of cultural heritage and copyright protection applicable in library and information activities and in education
K_W11 – basic sociological and psychological research directions as well as psychological characteristics of a human being
K_W12 – history of science, its development stages, structure and organization
K_W13 – selected historical issues and processes of Poland and Europe, including the historical evolution of culture
K_W14 – the construction and functioning of language as a system of signs and a tool of social communication
K_W15 – basic knowledge of literature, including belles-lettres as a cultural artifact and a source of artistic inspiration
K_W16 – basic terms and areas of philosophical research
K_W17 – basic concepts of classical logic and the method of proving in classical propositional calculus, classical predicate calculus and set theory.
Professional skills: the graduate is able to
K_U01 – use the concepts and research methodology of social communication and media sciences (book and information studies) that allow for identification and studying of problems related to the field of study
K_U02 – use the theory and methodology of the disciplines related to the field of study in the implementation of research and professional tasks
K_U03 – use the specialist terminology of social communication and media sciences, in particular book and information sciences as well as the disciplines related to the field of study
K_U04 – use information and communication techniques within the scope appropriate for the field of study
K_U05 – search, analyze and evaluate sources, as well as select and use information acquired from them for their own and other users’ purposes
K_U06 – identify and apply appropriate methods and tools for organizing and representing information
K_U07 – identify and analyze the needs of users of cultural and information institutions
K_U08 – conduct educational, animation and promotional activities related to the information and cultural activity, especially reading

K_U14 – plan and organize individual and team work on tasks related to cultural and/or information activity

Social skills: the graduate is prepared to
K_K01 – critically assess the knowledge necessary to conduct research and/or professional activities in the field of social communication and media sciences, especially book and information studies
K_K02 – recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems in the field of book and information studies, as well as use the knowledge of others in this area
