The aim of the classes is to familiarize students with the specifics of creating a specialized language course based on the methodology of teaching French for professional purposes by analyzing the specific professional and linguistic needs of the course recipients, obtaining sources of information about professional situations constituting the situational context of the course, developing a discursive corpus typical for a specific professional situation, and developing tasks to achieve professional goals in specialized French. The methodology of the classes involves developing students' linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic competencies in professional communication in various contexts, including technolects, professionallects, and sociolects.
Student workload in each of the 2 semesters:
– 30 hours of participation in exercises (contact hours),
– 30 hours of self-study (preparation for current classes, reporting on the progress of the development of the specialized French language course, work necessary to achieve the intended learning outcomes).

The graduate knows and understands:
S_W01 in-depth selected facts, theories, institutions, processes, phenomena in the fields of science and scientific disciplines: linguistics, literary studies, pedagogy, psychology, cultural and religious studies, history, relevant to the field of foreign language teaching oriented towards practical applications in the area of foreign language teaching at the third educational stage, adult education, and higher education didactics;
S_W17 to a significant extent the processes of interpersonal and social communication in Polish and English, optionally French or German, their regularities and disruptions.
Skills
The graduate is able to:
S_U01 search for, analyze, evaluate, select, and utilize information using various sources and methods, including advanced information and communication technologies, in Polish and English, optionally French or German;
S_U03 assess and critically analyze the quality of foreign language teaching; diagnose the needs, possibilities, and abilities of each student, and design and implement individualized education and upbringing programs;
S_U07 evaluate the usefulness of various methods, procedures, and best practices for achieving tasks and solving problems related to foreign language teaching, and choose and apply appropriate courses of action;
S_U12 formulate and test hypotheses in order to conduct a critical analysis of one's own actions and identify potential areas requiring changes in future activities;
S_U17 communicate on specialized topics and argue substantively in Polish and English, optionally French or German, using the views of other authors and formulating conclusions;
S_U18 communicate in Polish and a foreign language, engage in debates using various communication channels and techniques, with all participants of the educational process as well as with specialists in relevant fields of science and scientific disciplines appropriate for the field of foreign language teaching, in Polish and English, optionally French or German;
S_U19 prepare advanced written works in Polish and English, optionally French or German, relevant to the studied field of study, concerning specific issues, utilizing advanced theoretical approaches as well as various sources;
S_U20 prepare oral presentations and speak publicly in Polish and English, optionally French or German, on specific issues, utilizing advanced theoretical approaches as well as various sources;
S_U21 express oneself precisely and coherently both orally and in writing in Polish and English, optionally French or German on topics related to selected teaching issues using various theoretical approaches, drawing on the achievements of disciplines relevant to the field of study;
S_U22 present one's own ideas, doubts, and suggestions in Polish and English, optionally French or German, supporting them with arguments in the context of selected theoretical perspectives and views of various authors;
S_U23 use English and French or German at the C1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), taking into account the specifics of academic language and school communication language, and if applicable, a foreign language at the B1+ level of CEFR;
S_U25 work in a team fulfilling various roles; is able to accept and assign tasks, possesses organizational skills allowing for the achievement of goals related to designing and undertaking professional educational activities, and is capable of leading a team;
S_U27 independently, throughout life, acquire knowledge and develop professional skills related to foreign language teaching, using various sources and modern technologies (ICT) in Polish and English, optionally French or German.

Assessment Criteria
Assessment will be based on: the development of a specialized language course concept and the preparation of a lesson unit within the aforementioned course - main task (S_W01, S_W17, S_U01, S_U03, S_U07, S_U12, S_U17 - S_U23, S_U25, S_U27, S_K01, S_K02, S_K06, S_K07).
The basis for passing includes the following elements:
Attendance, punctuality, active participation during classes, and regularity in completing individual tasks related to the main task.
Students are allowed one unexcused absence.
Tasks completed as part of independent work and systematically uploaded to the "Kampus" platform: planning and developing a specialized language course for a selected professional group in the form of lesson scenarios for specialized language, considering the logic of actions within the specified profession.
Criteria for Assessing the Specialized Language Course:
2.1. Reflection of the needs of the professional group – communication goals in a specific professional context,
2.2. Selection of appropriate sources of information,
2.3. Specification of language tasks to be completed (oral tasks and written tasks: specialized discourse),
2.4. Preparation of a variety of typologically diverse language exercises related to the completion of the main task,
2.5. Incorporation of a task-based approach.
