Knowledge – The student knows and understands:
K_W01 Selected facts, theories, institutions, processes, and phenomena in a comprehensive manner, related to linguistic and cultural diversity as well as European language policy, with a focus on practical application in language education at preschool and primary education levels (stages I and II).
K_W02 Essential terminology in the field of multilingual and multicultural education.
K_W03 Methodology for performing tasks, norms, procedures, and best practices used in educational institutions and organizations promoting multilingual and multicultural education.
K_W05 Various types of social structures and institutions in social life and their interrelationships, with a particular emphasis on countries associated with the taught languages.
K_W16 Interpersonal and social communication processes in Polish on a significant scale, including their regularities and potential disturbances.
Skills – The student is able to:
K_U01 Search, analyze, evaluate, select, and use information using various sources and methods in Polish and English, optionally also in French or German.
K_U15 Speak and write precisely and coherently in Polish on topics related to multilingual and multicultural education, using various theoretical perspectives and drawing from the achievements of disciplines connected to pluralistic approaches in language teaching.
K_U20 Work in a team, taking on various roles; can accept and assign tasks and possesses basic organizational skills necessary for implementing goals related to designing and undertaking professional educational activities.
Social Competences – The student is ready to:
K_K01 Engage in lifelong learning and develop their own multilingual competence as well as that of their students.
K_K05 Collaborate and work in a group, taking on various roles within it.
Assessment criteria
Methods and Assessment Criteria:
The basis for passing the exercises includes:
• Attendance in classes – one absence is allowed. Any additional absence must be made up for in a manner agreed upon with the instructor, either by attending another group session or completing an assignment related to the missed class. Absences do not affect the final grade.
• Preparation for classes – familiarity with recommended bibliographic materials (brochures, articles, and websites), preparation of required presentations.
• Activity – participation in discussions and reflection.
• Presentations related to class topics.
Assessment Criteria for Classes:
The final grade is determined based on the results achieved during two main tasks submitted on the Campus platform.
• Analysis of an interview with a foreigner residing in Poland prepared by students from previous years. This task is performed in pairs and consists of a common part and an individual summary by each participant.
Maximum points for the task: 15.
Criteria assessed include timely submission on the platform, quality of analysis in terms of both form and content, and quality of the presentation during classes.
• Intercultural Project – Interview with a Foreigner Residing in Poland
The intercultural project is a group task. The maximum points for the group work (recording, presentation slides, and oral presentation during classes) is 15 points.
• Self-assessment sheet – 10 points.
Total: 25 points.
