German grammar for teachers 4100-1SGNDNO
The course “Practical Grammar” is implemented for two semesters in the first year of study. This course includes a detailed discussion of the following topics:
1. Adjective recension- analysis and application of adjectives in the context of various grammatical cases.
2. Verb and noun- a detailed discussion of verb and noun forms, their function and use in a sentence.
3. Genitive- rules for the use of definite and indefinite generics in various contexts.
4. Plural of nouns- formation of plural forms, grammatical rules and exceptions.
5. Declension of adjectives- the variety of adjectives by cases, numbers and types.
6. Sentence construction - structure of simple and complex sentences, syntactic analysis and rules of correct sentence construction.Examples of teaching methods:
1. Brainstorming- involving students in creative thinking and joint search for solutions to grammatical problems.
2. Exploring grammatical rules by deduction-allowing students to arrive at grammatical rules on their own by analyzing examples and thinking deductively.
3. Solving interactive tasks - using interactive exercises for practical consolidation of acquired knowledge.
Social forms:
1. Plenary work- joint work of the whole group, discussions and exchange of ideas.
2. Working in pairs- exercises in pairs that promote the exchange of knowledge and mutual assistance.
3. Group work- group tasks that develop skills of cooperation and communication.
An integral part of the subject is a course on the CKC platform, which includes interactive exercises. They are designed to consolidate and automate the issues learned in the classroom, which supports the effective absorption of the material by students.

*Students who have chosen teaching German as their second specialization are required to pass a C1 level exam organized by the Centre (CFLTT&EE) and are not required to take a language certificate exam.

Assessment criteria
Assessment methods:
1. Check works - regular written work during the class.
2. Class participation- evaluation of attendance (2 absences are allowed) and active participation.
3. Written work at the end of the 1st semester- summative work at the end of the semester.
4. Active participation in class- evaluated throughout the year.
Form of assessment:
- Semester I written credit.
- Yearly evaluation: on the basis of the whole year's control work and the written annual test (the test is held at the last class).
Scoring method:
To pass the course, it is necessary to obtain at least 60% in each of the following categories:
Winter semester:
- 60% for independent work in class.
- 60% for independent work on the CKC platform.
- 60% in the semester test.
Summer semester:
- 60% for own work in class.
- 60% for independent work on the CKC platform.
- 60% in the final test.
Grading scale:
- 60%-68% - grade sufficient
- 69%-76% - rating sufficient plus
- 77%-84% - good grade
- 85%-89% - grade good plus
- 90%-100% - grade very good
Test date:
- The final test will be held at the last class of the semester
