Social Network Analysis 4016-SIECISPOL-OG
In the course of the seminar students will learn the basics of social network analysis. The first part of the course (4 lectures) will familiarize them with the network paradigm and show the ubiquity of network applications, specifically within social sciences. The second part (5 lectures) will delve into specific network measures: global network characteristics (structure type, information flow) and vertex properties (centrality, betweeness). The last part (5 lectures) will present particular applications of the network paradigm, with emphasis on the usage of network measures in the social sciences.
