The aim of the course is to discuss basic demographic concepts; demographic theories; population problems in a global perspective; sources of demographic information; methods of demographic analysis; development of the population of the world and Poland; changes in the demographic and socio-professional structure of the Polish population; migration processes; shaping demographic processes as part of population policy; social policy towards population processes. |

Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student understands the determinants of the demographic processes in the past and today, understands the social, economic and political consequences of demographic processes, can analyze statistical tables showing the course of population processes, can draw conclusions from the analysis of statistical data on the course of demographic processes.
Assessment criteria
A writing test; open question test, filling the gaps test and test of choice (45 minutes).
