Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course:
Knowledge:
- knows the material covered (irregular forms of verbs, vocabulary, dialects),
- has extensive knowledge of the Akkadian language,
- is aware of the complex nature of the Akkadian language, its place and importance in the context of the culture and history of the Ancient East,
- knows the state of research in the field of the Akkadian language,
- is aware of the linguistic diversity of the Ancient East,
- has basic knowledge of the principles of translation from Akkadian into Polish;
Skills:
- recognizes verbum forms,
- can fluently use the writing system and tools used to learn and analyze it,
- demonstrates knowledge of the Akkadian language at the required level;
Competencies:
- understands the need to learn foreign languages throughout life,
- understands the role of knowledge of the Akkadian language in learning and understanding the world of ancient Mesopotamia.
Assessment criteria
The following criteria will be used in the assessment:
- attendance,
- continuous assessment (ongoing preparation for classes and activity),
- mid-semester written tests,
- final written assessment,
- written and oral examination.
