The lecture covers such topics as: Chinese philosophy in the pre-imperial period, ie in the period of the Hundred Schools, including: Confucianism (Confucius, Mengzi, Xunzi); Mozi and his philosophy; the oldest philosophical Taoist texts, Laozi and Zhuangzi, legism; philosophy of the Han era; beginnings and development of Buddhism in China, the most important schools of Buddhism (chan, huayan, tiantai, jingtu); religious Taoism - emergence, development, the most important elements of teaching; Neo-Confucianism of the Song and Ming epochs.

Assessment criteria
Written graded essay after the first semester, covering the issues discussed during the lecture in the winter semester. After the summer semester, written essay covering the material discussed in the summer semester.
