Korean language and culture - exam 3600-7-KO2-JiKEGZ(Z)
Classes as part of the university course of practical Korean language learning at B1 level.
Classes focused mainly on intensive expansion of vocabulary and complex syntactic constructions. Consolidating the automaticity of speaking and the ability to express thoughts orally at the level of more complex utterances, with an emphasis on the use of expressions from modern Korean.
Consolidation of communication skills in the field of listening with understanding and speaking, taking into account the vocabulary characteristic of various aspects of social life and selected issues of the humanities, with particular emphasis on the specificity of Korea. Introduction of contemporary texts of specialized press language, journalism, non-fiction (with a low degree of difficulty).
Developing the ability to formulate oral statements regarding static (objects, people, surroundings) and dynamic (actions, states and situations) descriptions. Further study colloquial language and honorifics at a higher level of complexity.

After completing the course provided for in the program:
KNOWLEDGE
- has extensive knowledge of the Korean language (its structure, history, writing) [K_W12];
- is aware of the complex nature of the Korean language, its place and meaning in the context of the culture and history of Korea [K_W13];
- is aware of linguistic diversity and its impact on the cultural and political situation of the world [K_W14];
- has detailed knowledge of the rules of translating from Korean into Polish [K_W15].
Skills:
- can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of cultural creativity in Korea (film, press, social writing) correctly placing
them in the cultural context [K_U06];
- can apply knowledge of socio-cultural issues in typical professional situations [K_U09];
- has a good command of Korean at the B2 level [K_U12];
- can analyze and interpret source texts in Korean [K_U13];
- can translate literary texts / writings from Korean into Polish [K_U14];
- can interpret the key concepts of Korean culture through linguistic / philological analysis [K_U15];
- can fluently use the writing system and tools for its learning and analysis (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, language
corpora, databases, etc.) [K_U16];
- can function properly in the linguistic and cultural environment of Korea [K_U17];
- has the ability to present detailed issues in the field of cultural issues of Korea in Korean, taking into account the intellectual tradition of
Korea [K_U21];
- has the ability to formulate his / her own opinions and conclusions in Korean [K_U22] in writing and in speech;
- can use electronic and internet tools in Polish and in Korean [K_U24].
Assessment criteria
The final grade is issued solely on the basis of the competences demonstrated in the oral exam (during the examination session).
The following criteria are taken into account in the assessment:
- communication skills (fluency, intelligibility, interactive communication),
- language skills (including active mastery of the material in the field of: lexis, grammar, expressions/phrases/idioms/proverbs,
pronunciation etc.; correctness).
