Social and theological background of Muslim philosophy. Ancient influence, transfer of Greek philosophical concepts. Principal currents of Muslim medieval philosophy (both Sunni and Shi’a), including Gnosticism and mysticism. Jewish philosophers in Islamic civilisation. Contemporary philosophy.
