Learning Amharic includes the Ethiopian alphabet, dialogues useful in everyday life, elements of grammar, as well as basic concepts that constitute Amharic key words to learning about the culture and society of Ethiopia.
After completing the entire course, students will acquire the ability to communicate in everyday situations (greetings, shopping, visiting a doctor, traveling, etc.). They will be able to read and understand written and spoken texts at a basic level, as well as construct simple statements on their own. They will also be aware of the cultural diversity of Ethiopia and learn the basic customs of its people.

After completing the course provided for in the program, the student:
Knowledge:
- has basic knowledge of the Amharic language, its structure, history and writing
- is aware of the complex nature of the Amharic language, its place and importance in the context of Ethiopian culture and history
- is aware of linguistic diversity and its impact on the cultural and political situation in the world
Skills:
- is able to apply knowledge of socio-cultural issues of the Horn of Africa in typical professional situations
- speaks Amharic at a basic level
- can analyze and interpret simple source texts in Amharic
- can fluently use the writing system (apply the rules of standard orthography) of the Amharic language
- can function properly in the linguistic and cultural environment of Ethiopia

- understands the need for lifelong learning,
- can cooperate and work in a group, establish contacts and build social relationships,
- is able to establish contacts and interact with representatives of different cultures,
- is aware of cultural diversity and its religious, philosophical, moral and historical sources and its importance for understanding the modern world,
