Grammar of the Japanese language 3600-19-JAW2-GJJ3
Exercises on basic issues of modern, standard Japanese language (hyōjungo) on phonetics, syntax, inflection, word-formation etc. Grammatical constructions will be introduced adequately to issues worked during other language classes.
Practical ability of creating verbs and adjectives forms, automatic use of them and correct use in collocations; functional use of parts of speech focusing on important ones i.e. functional particles. Ability of constructing of simple and complex sentences and correct translating between Polish and English having regard to grammatical and stylistic differences of these two languages.

A student after finishing the classes can:
Knowledge:
– has a broaden knowledge about Japanese language (its structure, grammar, history, writing system) (K_W12)
- - is aware of complex nature of Japanese language, its place and role and importance in context of culture and history of Japan (K_W13)
– has a basic knowledge about rules of translation from Japanese to Polish.(K_W15)
Abilities:
- use Japanese language on B2 level(K_U12)
– can translate literary texts from Japanese language to Polish (K_U14)
– can operate in Japanese language environment properly(K_U17)
Competences:
- understands the need of all life long learning (K_U01)
Assessment criteria
Evaluation will be based on:
class attendance (at least 50 per cent in semester)
in case of absence sick leave should be presented
up to two absences without a sick leave are possible
preparing before classes, activity during classes
written tests will be basis for allowing a student to attend an exam
returning all homework on time
Winter semester: graded assignment
Summer semester: exam
