The history of Sociology of Morality. Maria Ossowska – outstanding polish sociologist of morality. The notion of „morality” – the difficulties of definition. Moral orientations from sociological point of view. Five types of moral orientations: prosocial orientation, dignity orientation, reciprocity orientation, tabuistically orientation, theocentrically orientation.
A various kinds of moral norms: moral norms guarding our biological existence, moral norms in defence of dignity, moral norms which protect our independence, moral norms in defence of privacy, moral norms serving the needs for confidence, moral norms guarding justice. The role of moral norms and values in the harmonization of social relations, and their role as a factor of social integration. The moral standards in communities which experienced a situation of peril (a floods, wars, etc.); consider the problem, among others, in the context of the situation of ancient Israel and morals of the Bible. The selected problems and difficulties of empirical researches on morality.
