Upbringing and the sexual education 3402-10WESZ

The aim of the subject is to present students with the variety of forms and matters of upbringing and sexual education in Poland and worldwide. The course is focused on conceptual and theoretical contexts of the issue supported by the methodic analysis of the chosen curriculums of sexual education in its institutional form. The material includes the issues on the private and public sexual spheres in the light of socio-ethical control. The contemporary and historical tendencies in the upbringing and sexual education of children and youth in Poland and worldwide are presented in the perspective of such issues as: steps of psychosexual adulthood in the lifecycle, health and sexual needs in the light of human rights, stereotypes on the gender socialization, spheres of the interpersonal distance, language culture of the erotic life and human sexuality, borders and frontiers of human sexuality in the context of different value systems. Dilemmas of the sexual education in the contemporary family with the special stress put to theory and practice of the sexual upbringing of a small child, which are supported by the reports on the attitudes of parents and children and youth towards the issues of sexuality and the upbringing and sexual education in the perspective of chosen socializing agendas (family, school, equal groups, media, church). There is also presented the history of the realization of the courses on the "sexual education" in the light of different curriculums.
