The family and its cultural dimension 3402-10RWKZ
The aim of the course is to present the students with the rules of marriage and family in different cultures. During the course there is presented the character, for example, of the family in ancient Rome (inner relations and its role in society); marriage and families of primitive tribes - particular ideas of marriage relations and children upbringing; Chinese family - power of tradition and the role of family obligations; family in Arabian countries - women situation; Hindu family - marriage in India; family in Latin-American families, and so on. The analysis encompasses the traditions and flux - it shows the role of habitual norms, direction and range of transformations; the influence of social event and crisis on the family life.
