Social group work 3401-PS-PGd
Course contents include a few basic areas. The use of group work as one of the methods of social work requires knowledge of student issues such as:
- selected theoretical approaches on the work of the group
- types of groups which can work with social worker
- group process - phases, mechanisms, techniques used
- social work with difficult client
- the competence of social workers working with a group of
- group work ethical issues

Learning outcomes
After the course students will know the basic mechanisms of group formation and group functioning, types of groups and their members. They will be also able to apply gained knowledge in planning and working with groups.
Assessment criteria
To be evaluated:
attendance;
active participation in classes;
three written tests,
preparing and delivering presentations
preparing the selected book review
