Psychology, integrated workshops (optional, teacher education) 3302-PSY2-L
The aim of the classes referring to the experiences of students from professional practice is to identify and practice the competences necessary to effectively take up the tasks of a teacher, including: getting to know and practicing the practical use of communication tools in the school reality, recognizing and understanding developmental and emotional processes, and their importance for the work of a teacher (including the German language), expanding the awareness of one's social and emotional functioning, arousing self-reflexivity of the future German language teacher. Workshops integrated with the implementation of professional practice are devoted to the following issues: characteristics of the teacher-student relationship; the impact of social perception processes on teacher-student relationships; developmental changes; the tasks of the teacher as a person supporting students in their adolescence; the role of the teacher as group leader and styles of class leadership; the student as an element of the school system and a member of the class as a social group; characteristics of teacher-parent relationships; competences necessary to build understanding with parents and its importance in the teacher's work for the didactic and educational process; one-way and two-way communication; circularity of communication; communication barriers; listening as a deliberate and conscious activity; verbal and non-verbal behaviors facilitating active listening; characteristics of assertive behavior and facilitating factors; providing feedback; the impact of intrapersonal processes on understanding and communication; messages to help motivate students to learn; recognizing conflicts and ways of constructively reacting in school conflict situations, cooperation with the school psychologist, psychological and pedagogical counseling center and other institutions, especially in the care of a student with special educational needs; identification of factors contributing to professional burnout; identification of factors protecting against professional burnout; psychology of individual differences in the context of learning and teaching German.

Practical placement
The workshops are integrated with a 30-hour psychological and pedagogical practice in a primary school, kindergarten and secondary school.
