Monographic Lecture: British Art from the 18th to the 20th Century 3301-2ST-WM-KB002-J
The lecture offers a survey of the history of British painting from the 18th to the end of the 20th century. The course is chronologically organised. After the overview earlier art, the attention is paid to the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries including subjects such as the Enlightenment, return to nature, Romanticism, the Industrial Revolution, Academic art and the Pre-Raphaelites. The next part of the course is devoted to the art of the 20th century including the period of Modernism and the two world wars, ending with the post-war period
In case of online education: students will receive weekly prerecorded video materials. Moodle, Youtube and GoogleMeet platforms will be used. Live GoogleMeet classes will be held every other week during the time slot provided for the course.

Assessment criteria
Online test. Final oral exam including the student's presentation on the subject of a chosen artist.
3 absences are allowed.

Online materials concerning individual paintings and museums in the UK.
