Audiovisual and performative culture in Central and Eastern Europe 3224-D4AUDIO
The first semester starts with the general introduction to the history of the cinema in Central and Eastern Europe and the particular classes will be devoted to the cinema (from the historical perspective) from i.a. Germany, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine. The important issues and phenomena will be clarified with the use of particular film clips and will be shown in the larger historical and cultural context, as well as from the comparative perspective. During the second semester students will deal with various examples of rituals and phenomena of the performance culture in the Central and Eastern Europe. There will be shown and explained issues like for example: spectacles and rituals (like for example carnaval), dance and its contexts, body art and performance, happening and other cultural practices (especially between body and art).
