Master’s degree seminar, preparation of diploma thesis 3224-D10SEMKULHIS
Classes provide for discussing all matters related to the preparation of the diploma thesis, elaboration and editing of the thesis. Establishing the concept and writing the remaining chapters of the work. Drawing the student's attention to the need for self-discipline and rational time management in the last year of study. Preparation for the MA exam.
The seminar focuses on improving skills in:
1. stylistics of scientific works,
2. the ability to prepare an editorial page of a scientific text,
3. ability to logically construct job objectives, conduct research analysis and formulate conclusions.
Student workload:
Participation in classes in the room - 60 hours. (2 ECTS)
Preparation for classes - 30 hours (1 ECTS)
Collecting materials and writing a job - 390 hours (13 ECTS)
Preparation for the Master's exam - 30 hours (1 ECTS)

After completing the course, the student:

Participants become experts in the field of their master's thesis.
[SKILLS]:
Participants are able to conduct a library or archival query, formulate a research question, put forward a thesis and lead an argument.
Participants are able to properly select and document sources.
Participants are able to write a paper in accordance with academic standards and in the appropriate register.
[COMPETENCES]:
Participants are able to present their own work in the group forum and discuss other participants' projects in an appropriate, friendly manner.
Assessment criteria
The condition for obtaining a grade is to submit a master's thesis.
The condition for admission to pass the course is obligatory attendance in accordance with the Detailed Rules of Study at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics (Resolution No. 114 of the LS Faculty Council of 19/12/2017)
Classes will be conducted in the form of a discussion on the assigned readings or material presented by the teacher in the form of a presentation.
