Specialized Literary Introductory Seminar 3020-BB1P-L
During the course, students will become acquainted with the most important trends and currents in recent Lithuanian literature, with particular emphasis on prose written after 1989. The starting point for considering the directions of literary development, its reception and forms of response to the socio-political changes taking place in independent Lithuania will be the work of Ričardas Gavelis, author of the "landmark novels": "Vilnius Poker" and "Memoirs of a Young Man." During the following classes, students will gradually familiarize themselves with the works of the most significant prose writers of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
They will also learn about the methodology of conducting research, critical text analysis, and become familiar with new studies in the field covered in the class.
