Latin, semester 1 2900-LZ-LAC1
I. Classes prepare for independent reading of Latin texts with use of a dictionary.
II.In the course of the classes students gain knowledge of syntax, inflexion, basic vocabulary and Ancient Greek and Roman culture. This course is a base and preparation for further study of Medieval Latin during the 2nd year of studies.
III. Grammar material:
1. History of language. Pronunciation. Stress
2. Tenses: (ind., imp., inf. act. et pass., part.), futurum I (ind. act. et pass.), imperfectum (ind. act. et pass.) koniugacji I?IV.
Verb "sum". Constructions with "sum"
3.Declension ( 1-5)
4.Inflection of an adjective
5.Formation and inflection of adverbs.
6. Pronouns
7. . Nominativus duplex. Nominativus cum infinitivo. (4h)
8. Ablativus absolutus. (4h)
9. Gerundium. (2h)
10. Participium futuri activi. Coniugatio periphrastica activa. (2h)
11. Clause sentences: cum historicum, podmiotowe, skutkowe. Consecutio temporum. (10h)
12. Functions of cases: abl. qualitatis, respectus; gen. qualitatis
Remaining time will be dedicated to revision and tests.
