Volunteering in institutions of cultural heritage 2700-P3WIDK-SPNMIDK
Volunteering, unlike educational activities in cultural institutions, is not yet a standard. During the classes, we will answer the following questions:
• What makes this form of activity so well developed in some institutions and not appearing in others?
• What are the benefits of volunteering for the institution and for the volunteers themselves?
• What are the legislative conditions related to conducting such activities in the institutions of the GLAM sector?
As an answer, there will be numerous examples and various forms of volunteering in selected cultural institutions.
The following will be discussed:
• Legislative conditions of volunteering in public institutions.
• Various forms of volunteering depending on the nature and place of operation of the institution.
• Building a volunteer offer for specific GLAM sector institutions and acquiring volunteers.
• Motivating to provide free - voluntary work; how to build unity in a team of volunteers and make them believe in the importance of the work they provide.

Knowledge
• He knows and understands legal provisions in the field of copyright, legal regulations in the area of GLAM sector institutions and the protection of cultural goods.
• Has knowledge of the relationship between museology, book studies, and archives with the scientific disciplines of the GLAM institution's area of operation and new media.
• Has knowledge of the main directions of development and new achievements in the functioning of cultural heritage institutions.
Skills
• Has the ability to present research results, formulate conclusions and prepare oral presentations on specific issues related to the functioning of GLAM sector institutions.
Other competences
• Can define priorities for the implementation of tasks defined by himself or others, goals of cultural heritage institutions and their mission.
• Observes the rules of ethics in working in cultural heritage institutions, acts to maintain it, properly interprets and solves problems related to the performance of the profession.
Assessment criteria
Continuous assessment based on substantive preparation for classes and activity during classes.
The condition for completing the course is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity and performing tasks during the classes.
It is not possible to correct positive ratings.
