The subject includes an introduction to the main issues of copyright: the subject and content of copyright, exceptions and the issues of the public domain.
The course covers the following issues: the subject of copyright and the concept of a work; the content of copyright and the terms of protection of various types of works; exceptions to copyright and the public domain; permitted private and public use; lending law, orphan works, legal regulation of digitization and the use of works in cultural institutions.

After completing the course, the student has structured detailed knowledge of copyright in relation to the activities of cultural institutions.

He knows and understands legal provisions in the field of copyright, legal regulations in the area of GLAM sector institutions and the protection of cultural goods.

Understands the need for continuous development and professional training.
Other competences
Observes the rules of ethics in working in cultural heritage institutions, acts to maintain it, properly interprets and solves problems related to the performance of the profession.
Assessment criteria
Continuous assessment based on substantive preparation for classes and activity during classes.
The condition for passing the classes is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity and obtaining a positive result in the written final test.
It is not possible to correct positive ratings.
