The following issues will be addressed during the course:
- cultural systems, field of culture, participation in culture,
- class nature of cultural practices and cultural omnivorousness,
- postmodernism and its critique - selected theories,
- social constructivism - selected theories,
- post- and transhumanism in the context of social circulation of culture.

Learning outcomes
K2_W01 Students know and understand the place of social communication and media science in the system of science as a discipline that studies the contemporary information environment and the information circulation system in society; as well as their subject and methodological specificity.
K2_W08 Students know and understand the social, cultural and civilization importance of book communication.
K2_U05 Students are able to observe and interpret phenomena related to the social functioning of traditional and digital literature and the processes taking place on the contemporary publishing market, define their origins and predict their effects.
K2_U09 Students are able to conduct a substantive debate on issues related to the sciences of social communication and media, in particular bibliological editing, with the use of specialized terminology as well as modern communication techniques and tools.
K2_U10 Students can present their views objectively, objectively assess the views of interlocutors, formulate conclusions and propose their own solutions based on the acquired knowledge in the field of social communication and media sciences, especially in bibliological editing.
K2_K01 Students are ready to critically assess the level of his knowledge and skills, as well as to develop, improve and use various sources of information in solving research problems concerning contemporary cultural circuits.
Assessment criteria
General rules:
- One unexcused and one excused absence per semester is allowed. The student has the opportunity to make up for the absence by verbal passing the topic discussed in the class.
- It is not possible to correct positive ratings.
Lecture:
- The condition for passing the lecture is obtaining a sufficient number of attendees and obtaining a positive result from the final oral exam for the lecture.
Exercises:
- The condition for passing the exercises is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity and description of the selected topic, as well as conducting a moderated discussion on this topic.
- The order of speeches will depend on the size of the group and the topic.
