Conceptual design and preparation of a business project related to the tripartite audiovisual co-production – from the early idea to the final financing plan and selling strategy.
Stages in order:
a. Project concept creation – taking into account both artistic and economic assumptions. Planning of a project development and acquisition of co-production partners. Pitching as a way of project presentation and method to obtain potential co-producers.
b. Creation of the idea – methods of creative thinking, human capital and social capital management, time management, innovations. Building BIO of the production house.
c. Functional design of co-production assumptions. The financing structure and various sources of financing. The division of production between three partners financing the same project. Executive production, minority production, leading production – differences.
d. Analysis of the economic environment. Local and global scale. SWOT for an audiovisual project.
e. Analysis of resources, threats and opportunities – choice of strategy. Full assessment of the profit potential. Audience rating. Alternative thinking – transmedia, crossmedia. Reports on profit and settlements.
f. Financial analysis – project financing plan.
g. Presentation of the project (final project version in PowerP, together with SWOT analysis and completed financing plan).

After completing the course, students:
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of issues related to the production management processes from the early stage of the concept to establishing sales strategies and accounting for profits.
SKILLS:
Sales presentation of the project.
Writing and verbal project presentations – “pitching”
The ability to construct a project development plan.
The ability to construct a project financing plan.
Knowledge of individual stages of production process management depending on the type of audiovisual project production.
OTHER COMPETENCES:
Evaluation of the quality of the project and its market potential.
The ability to search the new ways to develop media projects.
Alternative financing methods.
Assessment criteria
The final evaluation will depend on:
- conscious design of the project as a tripartite coproduction,
- using the full potential of the project,
- choosing the right strategy,
- finding alternative, innovative solutions,
- during the pitching session - a good division of roles between group members (including going beyond your comfort zone),
- correct SWOT,
- aesthetic presentation and its visual attractiveness,
- correctness of the financing plan using all market opportunities and innovative ideas.
