KNOWLEDGE:
Knows the specialized terminology pertinent to the basic humanities, book and information science.
Has deeper, systematic knowledge of the terminology and methodology of book and information science.
Has deeper systematic knowledge of the relations between book and information science and other scientific field or fields and disciplines, from which information and library science stems, enabling for integrating of perspectives proper for several scientific disciplines.
Has detailed knowledge of selected contemporary developments within these scientific disciplines, which can provide comparisons / cooperation fields in library and information practice.
Knows and understands advanced methods of analysis, interpretation, evaluation and problem division of various types of cultural products, proper for selected scientific disciplines, which can provide comparison for library and information research and practical application.
Has basic knowledge of libraries and other institutions of culture and is informed in the current cultural life indispensible for the cooperation of libraries and information exchange between these institutions.
SKILLS:
Is capable of retrieving, analysing, evaluating, selecting and integrating information with the use of various sources and formulating on the basis of the collected materials of critical judgments for the needs of information users.
Has the ability to integrate knowledge from various disciplines in the field of the humanities and its application in untypical professional situations related to the performed job of librarian or information specialist.
Is capable of critical analysis and interpretation of information objects in the light of knowledge stemming from book and information science, characterized by original approach, taking under consideration new developments in the humanities, with view of defining their meanings, social impact, and placement in the cultural-historical process.
Is capable of critical analysis and interpretation of information services from the point of view of book and information science, characterized by originality of approach and considering novel developments in the humanities with the aim of defining their meaning, social impact, and placement in the cultural-historical process.
Is capable of formulating critical opinions about various types of documents on the basis of scientific knowledge from the realm of book and information science and has the abilities to present critical analyses in different form and with the help of various media.
