Library Fundraising 2700-M-IN-Z2PSF-OZB
Students learn the possible sources of funding for libraries and related institutions, such as participatory budget, local government funds, ministerial subsidies, European funds, non-governmental organizations grants.
The issue of private sponsoring and crowdsourcing will also be discussed.
Students will acquire technical and substantive skills in preparing applications for financing.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
Knowledge:
- knows and understands the specific and methodological specifics of the information and library science as a humanistic discipline, its latest achievements and development trends
- in a deepened way knows the principles of operation of libraries and other institutions providing information services, as well as other cultural institutions related to the protection and access to cultural heritage
Skills:
- can present substantive argumentation using own views and views of other authors, present research results, formulate conclusions and create synthetic summaries in the field of book and information science in Polish and foreign language
- can popularize knowledge about information institutions, their resources and services
- is able to organize and plan own work and work in a team, taking different roles in it
Social competence:
- actively participates in activities for the preservation of cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on the writing heritage
- can identify and resolve dilemmas related to performance as a librarian or information specialist
Assessment criteria
Continuous assessment based on substantive preparation for classes and activity during classes.
The condition of passing the course is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity, performance of a written project. Deadline for sending the work - during the session.
One unjustified and one excused absence in a semester is allowed. The student has the opportunity to make up for the absence by passing the oral topic discussed in class.
It is not possible to improve positive grades.
