The primary objective of the course is to provide students with basic skills needed to work in radio.
The theoretical part of teaching takes the form of the previously announced discussion topics, require the active participation from students. Much more extensive part of the practical classes take place in the radio studio or teaching room, equipped in technique devices (computers, software and hardware specialist reporters programs).
The theoretical part - covers issues related to the workshop of radio journalist, cognition, and a brief overview of the various genres of radio and the selected problems from various fields (eg law, professional ethics) useful in the subsequent occupation. Classes in the form of a short introduction and discussion. Required preparation prior to the issue. Furthermore there are visits to radio stations and news agencies, radio and meetings with journalists, radio. Students work independently - preparation of issues to discuss, finding information on the given topic, selecting information.
Some practical classes take place in the radio studio. During these classes, students have the opportunity to transition rehearsals, practice the selected technical issues (presentation and operation of selected computer programs useful in the work of radio journalist, reporter and hardware support issue) and there are speech therapy exercises. Participants thus have the opportunity to try their skills in creating various types of radio programs. The reporter learns hardware support but not only those technical issues, student also can check own suitability to work with people, learn to formulate and ask questions and select material. There are attempts to “tame microphone” with studio participants, teach appropriate behavior, help assess the strengths and weaknesses.
