Documentary Photography 2700-M-DM-D2FODO-FPR
The aim is to introduce the students to the wide range of uses of documentary photography, from its purely scientific nature, the form for publication, to the artistic vision based on the document. Analyzed are the most important documentary projects, which today are essential to describe the social relations of everyday life as well as behavior in extreme situations. Dominant themes will be presented in a contemporary document, and the ways to achieve them will be discussed. Students will be trained to self-create their own documentary projects, the choose topic, operate within its technical and aesthetic form, create the precise description and to gain for funds for its implementation

After completing the course, the student:

1. is familiar with the themes of the contemporary documentary photographers, both the pure artistic ones, sociological, visual and reportage
2. knows the current trends prevailing in the visual aesthetic document
3. knows documentary photographer workshop
4. knows the location of documentary photographs presentation and publication

1. students know how to describe the image in the current state of social life and ongoing processes of social change
2. know how to independently implement the document photo from idea to publication
3. know how to work with the scientists that use photography in qualitative research
4. know how to estimate and edit sets of documentary images
