The following issues will be discussed:
- theoretical foundations of reading research
- reading research methodology
- reading books, e-books and audiobooks
- press readership
- reading in selected social groups
- reading and social diversity
Topics will be developed according to the choice of research topics by students. During the course, students will design and implement short readership studies using a variety of tools.

Student:
- knows and understands the specificity of the subject, theory and methodology of reading research (K_W01, K_W04),
- knows and understands the principles of operation of institutions that carry out reading research (K_W07),
- knows and understands problems and challenges related to shaping reading attitudes and behavior (K_W08),
- can design and carry out a simple readership study of a selected group, working in a team (K_U02, K_U04, K_U08),
- understands the need to conduct reading research from the publisher's perspective (K_K03, K_K04).
Assessment criteria
Continuous assessment based on substantive preparation for classes and activity during classes.
The condition of passing the course is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity and execution of the final project. Submission of the project within the prescribed period.
One unjustified and one excused absence in a semester is allowed. The student has the opportunity to make up for the absence by passing the short oral exam.
It is not possible to improve positive grades.
