Basics of the construction and operation of television equipment 2700-L-LM-D6PEST-ZTM
The subject is divided into two parts: descriptive (seminar) and workshops.
At the seminar, students will be familiarized with the specificity of selected TV departments based on photographic documentation and equipment available in the studio. (CAMERAS, LIGHT, SOUND, STUDIO TRANSMISSION, TRANSPORT, COMMUNICATION). As a result, they orientate themselves in basic functions, in classic and non-standard applications of television equipment, with particular emphasis on mobile applications and dealing with hardware failure situations. They will learn about mobile transmission systems, virtual studio, types of cameras, types of microphones, lighting sets, assembly and graphic programs, the most common equipment failures, the specificity of air transport and equipment security. In addition, they will get acquainted with the equipment used on the set of the television series and the division of roles while working on the set.
In the workshop part, students are divided into specialized working groups (REPORTERS AND ASSISTANTS, CAMERAMAN AND CAMERA OPERATORS, LIGHTING TECHNICIAN, SOUND OPERATORS, BROADCAST DIRECTORS AND PRODUCTION MANAGERS). Depending on belonging to a given group, students prepare a photo set, secure space for a camera, test the possibility of transmission, set up light, communicate with operators, carry out the transmission, operate a studio camera, select a lens suitable for a given camera location, determine the difficulty of operating the camera for a given camera location, support the main functions of the camera / camera with the filming function, support the microphone and a small sound mixer.
