Designing information services 2700-L-IN-Z3PUI
Students learn the basic principles of designing information services. They practically learn how to adapt the offer to the specifics, mission and strategy of selected institutions and the needs of specific groups of users.
The concept of service design will also be discussed and possibly used.

Learning outcomes
The student knows and understands:
- theories and methods appropriate for designing information services (K_W01)
- methods of analysis and interpretation of information services (K_W04)
- principles of work of information and culture institutions in the context of designing information services (K_W06)
- strategies and methods for searching and assessing the reliability of information in the context of designing or optimizing information services (K_W07)
- forms and conditions of communication with users in the context of design or optimization of information services (K_W08).
The graduate can:
- use theoretical knowledge in project activities (K_U01)
- analyze users' needs and information behavior in the context of designing new or optimizing existing information services (K_U03)
- analyze available information services in terms of possible changes (K_U05),
- work in a team (K_U08).
The graduate is ready to:
- critical assessment and supplementation of own knowledge and skills (K_K01),
- fulfilling the social responsibility of the information employee (K_K02),
- team work (K_K04).
Assessment criteria
Continuous assessment based on substantive preparation for classes and activity during classes.
The condition of passing the course is obtaining a sufficient number of attendance, activity and execution of the final project. Submission of the project within the prescribed period.
One unjustified and one excused absence in a semester is allowed. The student has the opportunity to make up for the absence by passing the short oral exam.
It is not possible to improve positive grades.
