Journalistic genres 2700-L-DM-D1GADZ
Despite the theory that there is no journalistic genres in media, most classic journalistic genres are still represented in the media. It does not change the fact that this statement is going to simplification, which has the consequence of infotainement and edutainment among others. Increasingly, we also observe syncretic and hybrid forms. Thus, more and more messages called mega-genres. This trend is partly come from the new technological opportunities and adapting traditional forms for the new media. Another reason is big competition between broadcasters.
The lecture on journalistic genres aims to sort out the theory by introducing knowledge about genre model and how to implement them in modern media. During the meetings, the material is divided into three parts. The first relates to information statements and the model of information construction in both traditional and new media. The second part discusses the theory and examples of media journalism. The third is entertainment genres and formats as well as syncretic and hybrid forms implemented mainly in electronic media.
During the lectures, apart from theories, numerous examples related to Polish and foreign media are also presented.
