Foundations of Knowledge Organization 2700-L-API-D3POW
The course is focused on the theories, concepts and methods of organizing knowledge by man in his cognitive system and the theories, concepts and methods of organizing and representing knowledge in information systems.
The seminar covers:
- basic concepts and research categories of knowledge organization;
- problems of knowledge organization in the light of the theory of cognitive psychology;
- theories of knowledge organization in information science;
- concepts of knowledge representation in information systems.
Laboratory classes are devoted to students' projects focused on selected concepts and methods of knowledge organization and their applications in creating knowledge representation in information systems.
