MTP-An introduction to pedagogy - lecture 2300-NZ1-MTP-WP-W
The goals of lecture:
- to show, in a systematized manner , the knowledge necessary to complete the course;
- to introduce students to basic terms associated with pedagogy;
- to show how pedagogy and various terms used in publications and disputes concerning the field of pedagogy are understood;
- to introduce students to the issues of interdisciplinarity in pedagogy;
- to demonstrate the variation in pedagogy theories and its interconnections with other fields of knowledge;
- to show the cultural and social contexts/determinants of education;
- to demonstrate the openness of pedagogy to contemporary issues.

After the course, a student will:
KNOWLEDGE
1. know the meaning of basic pedagogy terms;
2.have basic knowledge of the variety of pedagogy theories and structure;
3.have basic knowledge concerning traditional pedagogy theories and their connections with contemporary issues;
4. have basic knowledge considering the interests of pedagogy in contemporary matters and the complexity of issues associated with education.
SKILLS
1.use the acquired terminology;
2. be able to explain the connections between the theoretical contexts of pedagogy thought and understand education;
3. be able to analyze texts in field of pedagogy;
4.be able to synthesize the contents of course;
5. be able to explain the connections between selected contemporary issues and the profile of pedagogy theory and practice;
6. be able to explain connections between pedagigical concepts.
ATTITUDES
1. perceive the complexity of education and pedagogy thought;
2.be open cognitively to education as a social and cultural phenomenon;
3.be open cognitively to variety in theoretical approaches.
Assessment criteria
Written work.3 open questions. 90 mini.
